The previous version was too fossil-centered. The lab studies living and extinct vertebrates to investigate musculoskeletal form, function and evolutionary transformations. The updated site makes rigorous comparisons among living vertebrates central to each proposal, not just preparatory to fossil reconstruction.
Research 1: the first publication target is clade-held-out prediction of muscle geometry in extant vertebrates. If reliable, the atlas can constrain inaccessible soft-tissue anatomy in fossils. Research 2: the first scientific result is a quantified and validated contrast in joint mechanics across living species under uncertain tissues. A fossil interpretation is a conditional extension. Research 3: first validate coupling and regional spinal mechanics across extant species with intact-spine experiments. Fossil regionalization is a separate comparative evolutionary application.
A user-provided pixel-sunglasses portrait and an AI-generated rainforest background remain; photographs are not presented as evidence of fieldwork. Existing publication claims remain explicitly benchmark-specific.
